The houses
The High Road and Tottenham Green conservation areas hold some of the borough's oldest buildings: Georgian and early Victorian houses near Bruce Grove, and shops with flats above. Seven Sisters, South Tottenham, St Ann's and West Green are mainly late-Victorian terraces, many converted into flats or let as HMOs. Tottenham Hale has seen large new-build developments, with purpose-built flats and communal cores.
What that means for decorating
- Rentals and changeovers. Much of the housing is privately rented, so fast, durable end-of-tenancy repainting is a large share of the work.
- New-build flats. New plaster needs a mist coat, and new-build walls often have visible fixings and settlement cracks to deal with in the first repaint.
- Communal areas. Blocks and converted houses have shared stairwells that managing agents decorate on a cycle.

Questions
Do you decorate HMOs in Tottenham?
Yes. The quote tool lets you list every room, mark which are occupied, and note fire doors, which need decorating without compromising their seals.
